Websites about Mesothelioma

My former business partner and I created several websites about Mesothelioma, Asbestos, and Asbestos Cancer as an experiment in internet marketing. We were able to get some pretty good rankings in a very short amount of time and unique content on each site.

However, we are no longer working together and would like to sell the sites to someone who would like to pursue building them and growing them. But what is the best way to sell the sites? I have looked into Flippa.com - but are there other ways that are better?

New Scrapbooking Site

I just updated my old blogger scrapbooking site to a new WordPress scrapbooking site. It is SO much better now. Just need to get all of the redirects in place so I'm not losing traffic or page rank.

Optimizing Images in Social Media

Images are among the most powerful tools in social media: they are easily consumed, and offer more stimulating information than text.

And since most people are busy and increasingly tightfisted with time, mastering the image — which takes little effort to scan — has a lot of appeal.

As reported on MarketingVOX:

A few of the tips:

  • Use groups of images for targeted groups to add content.

  • Mark your images with a non-intrusive personal stamp, like your URL - these images are then easily copied, thus ensuring higher overall exposure.

  • Use large images, preferably of the same size when presented in group, and be sure to categorize them.

  • Host your images on services like Amazon’s S3 and Flickr Pro to prevent your server from being overburdened.

  • Go ahead and use funny pictures, but never mix them with news/information images: Users don't appreciate this.

  • Use high quality photography and high resolution design-related content (e.g., digital art, graffiti, web design, fonts).

  • Informative images (charts, graphs, screen shots, how-to's, maps) that are easy to understand and comprehensive are extremely eye-grabbing and helpful.

  • Look for unbelievable shots that are still believable, like action shots caught on film.

  • Use breaking news photos and exclusive shots. (The Hudson plane landing is a good example of this.)
In all, images are a powerful conveyor of messages, and because they are so prime for social media consumption, it merits paying attention to detail when choosing which images to use.

Search engines, too, are recognizing their importance. Image search is the fastest-growing vertical in the search arena today.

Time Management

I wish there was a way to really learn to manage time more efficiently. I love my Franklin Covey planner. It helps to keep me focused and achieving my goals. But I wish I could find an electronic planner system which would not only allow me to do my work online, but also not risk losing data as my palm pilot has done in the past.

I've considered trying out the new iphone, but have not been impressed with AT&T cell service, so that's the big drawback for me.

New Weight Loss Site

I just finished working on a new website -- Qi Weight Loss -- Qi is the Korean spelling for "chi" -- meaning good energy. The website outlines all of the different popular diets including Weight Watchers, South Beach, Atkins, the Zone, NutriSystem, and many more. You can research about weight loss and dieting. I hope you like it. It's the first draft, so please let me know if something isn't working properly.
