New Scrapbooking Site

I just updated my old blogger scrapbooking site to a new WordPress scrapbooking site. It is SO much better now. Just need to get all of the redirects in place so I'm not losing traffic or page rank.

Excellent Video from Tony Robbins

I just watched this video from Tony Robbins about how the identity we hold for ourselves controls our success or failure in life, and impacts our relationships, our business, and every area of our life. The video also gives tools to thrive in these times of uncertainty. Just thought I'd share it. Enjoy!

Cheap Web Hosting and Domain Names

If you're looking for cheap web hosting and domain names, I've always been pleased with www.GoDaddy.com . Not only do they have great customer service, but their prices are the best I've found. I've tried other services, and I like them the best. You can even use Go Daddy for Bulk Domain Registration if you are a serial entrepreneur and want to own many domains -- you get even higher discounts that way.

Petition to Save Windows XP

InfoWorld is collecting signatures on a petition to save Windows XP. Click here to sign. I'm happy to add my signature. I'm in need of a new computer system, but hesitate to buy one because every machine comes with Vista -- and the time and money it will take to get all of the software I use upgraded, with patches, etc. -- just makes me not want to go there. I just don't have the time to deal with it. So I stick with my current system and hope it keeps working well. If I could get a new computer with Windows XP (that is not a DELL), I'd do it in a heartbeat. I hope Microsoft will listen to what their customers WANT and not keep trying to tell us what they want us to want -- and keep Windows XP around. (It won't be sold after June 30th).

Back from Vacation

Taking a vacation should be required for everyone at least twice a year. There are many benefits of taking vacations. It gives us opportunities to review our lives, take a break from our daily routine, get re-centered, and re-create. Europeans have the right idea -- they take summer vacations -- 6-8 weeks each year.

I just got back from a short vacation -- and was scolded by a woman in an internet cafe for working on my vacation. I have to admit I was guilty. Perhaps next time I should make sure not to have access to computers, cell phones, and technology. Then I won't run the risk of working while I should be relaxing.

I realized this trip that I really do need a vacation -- a vacation where I can truly relax. I'm thinking the far reaches of Alaska would be nice.

I wonder what has happened in American society -- we work longer hours, take less time off, are more stressed out, have more health problems, and seem less relaxed than other cultures. Do we think we're going to get behind if we take a break? Probably. I've been there myself.

But the benefits of vacations are so great not only in mental and physical health, but also in emotional health and productivity.

So, take a break -- go on a vacation -- and relax. It will pay off in the long run! I'm thinking I'll take another one and leave the laptop at home. :-)

Super Size Me?

Okay, so the movie "Super Size Me" was on TV a few weeks ago -- and I saved it on my TiVo. I just watched it the other night finally -- it was really eye-opening. I don't eat fast food very often, and try to keep my diet full of organic and fresh foods rather than processed.

I have to say I was shocked at the "choices" children get in school. In most of the schools there were no vegetables, no fruit, nothing "live" -- but all processed junk foods. And the lunch ladies said they figured the kids were educated enough to make good choices. There were no healthy choices available!

I will also never ever eat chicken nuggets again. How gross! To show that they were made from misshapen chickens (probably full of hormones), ground up parts that would never be edible elsewhere, and tons of preservatives and chemicals added -- sick! How can we be eating this stuff -- or feeding it to our children?

I was also a bit surprised that it took about 9 months to recover from the one month binge of eating McDonald's food. Wow.

If you haven't seen Super Size Me -- it's well worth the time -- and may change the way you eat forever.

The Testaments - Fireside Available

The new LDS Church movie -- The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd is now available on DVD. There is a fireside that was done by Ane Marie and Tomas Kofod (the man who portrayed the Savior in the film). The fireside entitled "Of One Fold and One Shepherd" contains the powerful conversion stories and experiences that Tomas had behind the scenes of The Testaments. He shares how the Lord tutored him and prepared him to play the role.

A great gift for anyone -- it's available now as a download exclusively through LDS Audio. If you would like to pre-order a CD, you can purchase through Latter-day Light Books. If you have seen The Testaments -- you're going to want to hear this fireside!

Tomas and Ane Marie are very good friends of mine -- and each time I have listened to this fireside, I am touched by the way the Lord is in charge -- and how He has a role for each of us. Both Tomas and Ane Marie have powerful testimonies and you will feel the Spirit as you hear about their conversions to the LDS Church, their experiences and miracles the Lord performed during the making of The Testaments.

Getting Organized

"We shape our buildings and afterwards, our buildings shape us," said Winston Churchill. The kind of environment we live in has effects on our thinking, behaviorism, and health. A chaotic environment has an adverse effect on physical and emotional state.

I've just finished reading a great article about Organizing Clutter. My roommate just moved out, and it's motivated me to dejunk, organize my garage and finally get through those boxes of papers that I've been carrying around. Thought if you're getting ready to do your spring cleaning as well - you might enjoy the article.

Cheap Web Hosting

I just found cheap web hosting. I've looked around for a while, and had 6 of my domains hosted at GoDaddy.com -- and 10 hosted with another host, and about 75 more domains to find hosting for. Anyway with GoDaddy.com Hosting Plans you can get web hosting for $12.00 per month -- and can host an unlimited number of sites. Much cheaper than hosting them individually.

Now there are benefits of hosting sites on different servers, but if you just have one or two sites, I really like the GoDaddy hosting accounts. For less than $4.00 per month you can host your site and get all of the features you should need.

Anyway, check out the GoDaddy.com Hosting Plans.
